What can we do?
A lot of people think mobile service is only for basic stuff and that may be true for traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Ranger can provide nearly every repair or maintenance operation that your factory service center can. In some cases, we may need to move your vehicle to our local service bays but our focus is always to get you up and running, right where you are. Digital EV's (firmware based) have created new opportunities for what service can look like going forward. Ranger looks to lead here. Below are some common requests and repairs we can provide but by no means is it all we do.
Dead Car
Your car is completely dead. It wont wake up, doors wont open or it just stops working. Theres many reasons for this. Some are simple fixes, some are not. Often, these are related to a recent repair or firmware update.
12 Volt Alert
You get a message on the dash about the 12 volt battery needing serviced. This is the "little" battery in your car are deep cycle marine type batteries. They charge and discharge constantly and are powered by the "big" or high voltage battery.
Clunks & Creeks
Usually suspension components bushing wear, axle shaft wear, drive motor mounting or body attachment points failing. Some are common, some are from hard driving, some from prior repair issues.
Door Handles
Yeah... they just fail
Windows
Usually a window regulator has failed but also can be from prior repair issues and position calibrations.
No Heat - AC or smelly
Can be just basic cleaning needed from clogged up filters or radiators & condensers in your thermal management system. You don't want to wait on these issues. This system cools and heats not only your passenger compartment, but your high voltage battery, the battery management system and your electric motors.
Charge Port & Charging
Usually from force opening and closing the charge port door or walking into them while charging but can be related to bigger High Voltage battery issues and often, the charging device or wiring at your home. Don't wait on these issues.
Touch Screen
Many older touchscreens develop a yellow border... its oil. Sometimes they wear out from overheating. They usually need to be replaced ... unfortunetly
Autopilot & Phantom Sensors
Sometimes autopilot does weird things or shows things that aren't there, especially at low speeds or while parking. Sometimes the cameras are dirty or fail. If you've had your windshield replaced or had body repairs done, this is usually the issue. Calibrations and cleaning are critical to your AP's performance.
Wind Noise & Leaks
These vehicle bodies are very light weight to improve range ... that battery is heavy! They use mixed metal construction and new ideas like gigacasting to achieve this, but it creates issues with body fit and movement. Most of this can be corrected
